Write for us

Fresh Community Report welcomes considered proposals about the places, groups and everyday practices that bring people together. We look for clear ideas with a distinct angle, grounded in what a general reader can understand and use.

What we welcome

Pitch explanatory, comparative, historical or occasion-based pieces about shared spaces, local groups, gatherings, belonging and local memory. A strong proposal identifies one focused question, explains why it matters to readers and shows what the finished piece would help them notice or decide. Practical ideas should be safe to act on without specialist expertise or assumptions about local rules.

A useful pitch

Tell us the proposed subject, your central point, the likely reader and the shape of the piece. Note any sources, permissions or firsthand material the idea depends on, and flag details that may vary by place. Keep the proposal focused rather than sending a broad list of possible subjects. Unsolicited finished articles are not a substitute for an agreed pitch.

How to send it

Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include a way to reply and enough detail to assess the idea. A pitch is a proposal, not a promise of publication; any commission, edits and timing would need to be agreed separately.
